International Wine and Spirit Competition 2011
We are thrilled to announce that our Toi Toi Riesling 2010 has just been awarded Gold 'Best in Class at the recent UK-based International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) - Southern Hemisphere results.
This was one of only 15 Gold 'Best in Class' accolades awarded to a riesling worldwide, and one of only three awarded to a wine from New Zealand.
Here's what the judges had to say about the Toi Toi Riesling
Watery pale lemon/green colour. The nose is laden with citrus aromas, raw fruits and jellies. Lime manderin and grapefruit, play with apple and lemon. Tight in the mouth, almost searing acidity is tamed by the intensity of fruit flavours and minerality underneath. At the moment this is quite boisterous in its attack, but is wonderfully sculpted and will gain elegance with some bottle age.
We believe our Toi Toi Riesling is a super wine, also having won Gold this year at the New Zealand International Wine Show and a Highly Commended at the Sydney International Wine Show.
Our Toi Toi Central Otago Reserve Pinot Noir 2010 was also awarded Bronze in the IWSC.
Fantastic results and as always a big thank you to all involved in the production of these wines. Enjoy!
